Gretings and I have to give you folks the next instalment about Borobudur. The date above is tentative which is just after Hari Raya Puasa.  And again, we would like to stress that the seats are limited to 16 and works on a first come first served basis. Price: .... You will notice that we are covering quite a vast area.. in fact, quite the whole of Java. I don't think any travel agent covers that  far. Or do they?

 

WE should be glad that we have Mr Kamal to guide us and that is why I am embarking on this "mission". The itinerary again is tentative and subject to alterations:

 

Day 01 - 101008  Fri Kul-Surabaya. After lunch tour of Surabaya and shopping. After dinner at Surabaya, procceed to Bromo and check in.

 

Day 02 - 111008   Sat - 0300hrs Wake up call and proceed for Bromo Tour. Bromo is an active volcano mountain at 2392 m in Tengger Semeru National Park, East Java. The crater constantly belches out white sulphurous smoke and is coated with fine volcanic soil.

Mt Bromo is noted for its spectacular sunrises and majestic views. Temperatures can drop 10-15 degrees with high winds at times.  Bring along sweaters/wind breakers and good walking shoes. (Note timing of tour).

 

Back to hotel and after a quick shower, have breakfast and head for Jogjakarta. Tour enroute. After lunch tour of Jogja. After shopping and dinner check in.

 

Day 03 - 121008 Sun - After breakfast - BOROBUDUR TOUR - HALF DAY. Lunch and free at leisure. Dinner on your own. Free at leisure.

 

Borobudur - 9th century Mahayana Buddhism in Magelang, Central Java. The monument is a shrine to the Lord Buddha and a place for Buddhist pilgrimage. It is listed under UNESCO Wiorld Heritage Site. Once a year Buddhists in Indonesia celebrate Vesak Day.

 

It is Indonesia's single Most Visited Tourist Site.  

 

Day 04 - 131008 Mon - Jogja to Bandung. lunch, Bandung Tour and shopping. Dinner, check in and free at leisure.

 

Bandung is the capital of West Java - cool temperatures surrounded by volcanic mountains. It is a resort city with tea plantations and a population of 6 million people.  The Dutch influence shows on Bandung. Bandung is dubbed the Tourist Shopping City - with fashion homemade goods that are at par with branded goods and sold at factory outlets, which is alleged to mean that the goods are cheaper. This I am not very sure, anyway!

 

Day 05 - 141008 Tues - After breakfast Bandung to Jakarta. Lunch. Tour of Jakarta. Dinner and check in.

 

Day 06 - 151008 Wed -   Jakarta - all yours. Lunch and dinner on your own.

 

Day 07 - 161008 Thurs - Evening flight - Jakarta -KUL. Home sweet Home.
